A single ply flat roof waterproofing membrane should be repaired in consultation with the membrane manufacturer, to make sure that the correct type of remedial action is taken for the membrane type.

In the event of accidental damage to the membrane, the installing contractor and the membrane manufacturer should be notified immediately to agree a practical solution. The terms of different warranties may vary, but generally, a failure to contact the membrane manufacturer is likely to invalidate any guarantee.

As a temporary measure, self-adhesive tape can be applied to the surface of the membrane to prevent water ingress. Under no circumstances should a bituminous tape product be used on PVC membranes.
