    Area Business Manager - London & South East Region

    We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and motivated applicants for the exciting position of Area Business Manager, covering the London and South East region.

    Reporting to and working with the Divisional Manager, the successful candidate will drive business in their territory, possess excellent knowledge of Specification process, be commercial, articulate and numerate, with an analytical mind. You should have confidence in your ability to negotiate and deliver results and enjoy the pace of this demanding role.

    Candidates should ideally possess a strong desire to achieve and exceed sales and margin targets and an excellent understanding of the specification and sales process with a demonstrable track record of successful territory development. A solid foundation in waterproofing membranes and built up roofing would be an advantage along with a strong desire to achieve and exceed sales and margin targets.

    The successful candidate will be results focused with the ability and drive to build on our existing specifier and contractor base while seeking out all important new opportunities.

    Post: Full time and permanent

    Salary: Negotiable and commensurate with experience

    Hours: 35 hours per week

    Probationary period: 6 months

    The successful candidate will be results focused and should possess the below qualities and experience:

    • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
    • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
    • Confidence to deal with people at all levels
    • Good attention to detail with a practical “Can do” attitude.
    • Ability to procure information / material from minimum  information
    • Process complex messages or information with clarity
    • Analytical & Strategic capabilities
    • Commercial focus & negotiation skills
    • Proven track record of exceeding territory sales targets
    • Experience in technical sales in the R.C.I Market

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement an area business plan in order to achieve sales and margin targets
    • Monitor sales and margin performance against targets and advise line manager of appropriate/necessary actions required
    • Liaise with Line Manager in the implementation of sales policy
    • Liaise and co-operate with the technical support and contractors to ensure that customer service requirements are exceeded
    • Good relationships with customers are maintained and enhanced
    • Creative thoughts processes are employed in developing new business
    • Ability to plan journeys/routes according to customer visit priorities
    • Develop specification bank through sales effort with specifiers and key clients
    • Appoint service approved contractor network to service region
    • Undertake sales/technical presentations to develop specification sales
    • Provide technical advice/guidance & prepare proposal specifications for prospective customers/projects
    • Analyse market intelligence & report on competitor activity and advise on appropriate actions

    The full time, permanent position comes with a company paid health plan, contributory pension, 24 days holiday increasing to 26 day with service in addition to bank holidays and a free car park.
